He was bitten by the radio bug at the early age of fourteen, when Jo Van Belle did a radio test at the local radio in Keerbergen, Venus. Hip DJ Wiske, eighty-three at the time, noticed his talent and taught Jo Van Belle the tricks of the trade.

After an interesting trip through the local & regional Flemish radio landscape, Jo decides it’s time for the real thing.  

The arrival of the new hit radio station MNM at the public broadcasting station comes with a new job. As “host” of the Ultratop 50, he takes nearly 700,000 people through the chart with the best sold singles of Flanders every week. After 4 years of hit radio and at 42 years of age, Jo decides that it’s time to return to his roots… the wonderful music from the eighties and commercial radio..

Jo leaves the public broadcasting station and starts working for the national Joe fm of the Q-group (Medialaan).
